Elizabeth Gaylord Schutt has been painting & drawing for over twenty-five years. Born in Cook County, Illinois, she has spent her life in the mid-west.
She graduated with honors from Oak Park River Forest High School and went on to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While there she made the National Dean's List and graduated in 1992 with a BA in Fine Arts. In the spirit of SAIC's alumni charity event, Barewalls, Gaylord Schutt painted bears several years in a row which proved very popular with some creating bidding wars.
Elizabeth opened Harrison Works in September, 2002. Harrison Works has held many juried/themed shows including both Gaylord Schutt's and other artists' works. Many are music themed and often honors Harrison Works patron saint: George Harrison. Elizabeth founded the Ukulele Club of Oak Park in 2007.
Elizabeth hosts Uke Club meetings every 2nd Wednesday of the month at Harrison Works.
